MAC Clear Lipglass

I decided to do a quick post on the latest addition to my blog...

MAC clear lipglass

I got this product because it is multi-purpose and I have nothing in my kit that can create shiny effects on the face.

You can use this product all over the face and body to create interesting effects.

The thing that makes this product different to others is that it is very thick in consistency, making it very long lasting.
This gloss comes in a squeezy tube making it very convenient and sanitary, especially for make-up artists.

MAC say: A unique lip gloss that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip Pencil or Lipstick, Clear Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It contains Jojoba Oil to help soften and condition the lips and a tiny bead of this highly concentrated product is all that's needed to cover the lip area. Packaged in a convenient squeeze tube, Clear Lipglass is easy to apply using a lip brush. Clear Lipglass can be mixed with other products, like Pigments, and can be applied anywhere on the body except for the eye area to create interesting effects.

This product costs £13.00 and you get 15ml of product. Since the product itself is very thick, you only need a little at a time, making it last for ages.

August Favourites

This is my first monthly favourites post, and I'm hopefully planning to do more in the future.

I haven't been using much this month since I'm working on building my professional kit, so I've just included the things that I have been using daily.

Firstly, is my lovely Bioderma.
I have just done a review on this product and I have been loving this to remove my makeup.

2. Cuticura anti-bacterial hand gel.
I have been doing a lot of travelling lately, and I have been using this sanitizer frequently when I can't wash my hands with water.
I love this for when I'm out and about and when I'm painting someone's face.
This also leaves a lovely freah scent on my hands.

3. Almond oil
This for me is one of the more versatile oils that I use.
I love putting this in my hair for a few hours before I shampoo, to remove heavy makeup and to use as a body moisturiser

4. Models own nail polish in Beth's Blue
I have used this nail polish frequently since I first purchased it.
It is a beautiful light blue colour and makes my hands look really clean.
Perfect for this time of year.

5. MAC Studio Fix Fluid Liquid Foundation
This is my everyday foundation and I would like to include it in my monthly favourites every month.
You can layer this foundation or sheer it out, depending on the coverage you wish to achieve.
I have also written a review about this foundation.

6. Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre
I have been loving French skincare recently and this is my all time favourite moisturiser.
I was originally looking for a moisturiser that I could use for all skin types for my kit.
I discovered this and it is a really lovely moisturiser.
It is moisturising enough for even dry skin and has a really nice delicate smell to it.
I plan to to a review on this product shortly.

7. MAC Whisper of Gilt skinfinish
Last but not least, this is my all time favourite highlight, but it is limited edition so I don't know what I will do when I finish this product.
This leaves a beautiful sheen to the skin and gives a beautiful glow.
I have been using this everyday as a finishing touch to my makeup.
I have also written a review on this product.

Bioderma Crealine H20

So everyone's been talking about Bioderma...so I had to get my hands on it

As a Make-up artist, I am constantly checking out the latest products do that I can keep up to date and have something in my kit for all skin types.

My friend went to France recently, so I asked her to bring me back a bottle since it is so hard to get hold of here in the UK.

I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. At first glance, this stuff looks like water and has no scent to it. So it left me wondering how it was going to remove all my make up.
I had a full face of makeup on and started with my eyes. It immediately started to dissolve my makeup, and within one swipe, half of my eye makeup was removed.
I was amazed at how easily this removed my makeup, and left no traces of makeup on my face when I had finished.

I have been using this morning and evening and it is so pleasant to use, I actually look forward to cleansing my face.

I can see why this is used so much by Make-up artists because it is gentle yet effective, making it ideal to use at shows and photoshoots when the models makeup needs to be changed so frequently and can get irritated using normal cleansers.

I'm going to put this bottle in my kit but I am currently looking at how to get some more so that I can have my own bottle for personal use.
I think the best place to get hold of this would probably be Ebay.

Although this stuff is not cheap, you do get 500ml so it will last you.

Overall I highly recommend this cleanser, and it is fast becoming my favourite x

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish

I had to write a quick post on one of my favourite nail polishes EVER!

Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polish in 825 Sky High

I first got this nail colour when I was craving a creamy teal to put on my nails for a beautiful pop of colour.

So I popped into my local Superdrug store and immediately saw this.
It is a beautiful teal colour, not so much a sky blue but still beautiful nonetheless.
The drying time of this product is quite quick but I wouldn't say 60 seconds as it claims.
I always feel like my hands look nice and clean when I have this colour on my nails, which is a bonus :)
This product does last for me and I could go a couple of days of wearing without a chip but I would still recommend applying a top coat.

I picked this up for £2.99 at Superdrug and you get 8ml of product.

I would definitely recommend

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid

Probably my favourite foundation after NARS Sheer Glow...

I have used this foundation for years and I find that I always come back to this one because it works beautifully on my oily skin due to the product being oil-free.

M.A.C says: A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium-buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15. Comfortable and long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. Applies smoothly, builds coverage quickly and easily. Contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections. Absorbs and disperses oil. Contains special skin-conditioning ingredients. Oil free

This is a medium to full coverage foundation and can be built up for the desired effect.
This foundation also has SPF 15 which is great if you sometimes forget to put on your SPF separately like me!

I got mine in the colour nc35 and I do find that as the day goes on, this product tends to oxidise slightly, leaving me looking just a little darker than when I first apply this.

This foundation blends like a dream and leaves me looking flawless for hours.
You can use different brush to apply this to manipulate the finish that you want.
I use this with a stippling brush or a flat top kabuki brush to get a nice finish.
I also use my hands if I'm in a rush and I find that this leaves me with a much more natural finish.

The packaging of this foundation is good and small enough for travel.
I also purchased a pump for more ease of use and to stop me wasting too much of the product.

The smell of the foundation is quite strong but nothing that particularly bothers me...infact, the smell is quite comforting to me because I am so familiar with this foundation :)
Steer clear if you prefer unfragranced cosmetics!

This product costs £20.50 for your standard 30ml.
Because the product itself is quite thick, you don't find yourself using way too much so you do get value for your money.

Overall I love this foundation and would recommend this product to anybody that has normal to oily skin

MAC Face and Body Foundation

I was on the search for a perfect light foundation for summer and I decided on the MAC Face and Body Foundation.

I love this foundation for when its hot outside and I need a sheer coverage foundation. You can also build this foundation up to a medium coverage foundation by applying one layer, allowing it to dry then adding another layer on top.
This foundation leaves a very soft and dewy finish.
Like your skin, but better.

This foundation is water-based and water-resistant so its perfect for those hot summer days and perfect for brides!
You do have to be very careful when pouring this out because the product is so thin.

I got mine in the colour c4 and its a little too dark for me but gives me a healthy glow.
I use my hands to apply this foundation if I'm in a rush but I prefer to apply this with a flat synthetic brush. Using natural hair brushes will soak up a lot of product since it is very watery.

While this not my favourite NARS Sheer Glow, I do love this foundation and you get 120ml for £26.50 so it will last you ages

Overall I think that this is a lovely foundation and perfect if you have only minor skin issues.
if you need a foundation with more coverage this may not be the one for you.
This foundation is for all skin types, but if you have oily skin like me you will find that you really need to set this foundation properly to avoid looking like an oil slick.
I use mineralize skinfinish natural to set mine and keep it with me for touch ups during the day

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre

I love Chanel....

I purchased this powder because I heard so many good reviews about it, so when I ran out of my usual MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural I decided to see what all the hype was about.

The powder itself is smooth, silky and fine.
This powder quickly became my favourite after a few uses.

The packaging of this product is stunning with its glossy black lid and double c logo at the top makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :)

I got this in the 30 shade and it is perfect for my skin tone.
As this is a loose powder, you have to be very careful with the amount that you put on your brush because you can end up looking cakey.
The only downfall to this product is the size.
Because of the large container it makes it difficult for travelling but looks beautiful at home when placed with all your other makeup products.
There is also a compact, pressed version of this powder which I am considering purchasing so that I can touch up my makeup throughout the day when I'm out.

This product is a little pricey at £34, but in my opinion it is worth every penny and is a truly beautiful product
